同調圧力と動員の歴史、音頭から見る昭和戦前史を垣間見る歴史資料。
小唄勝太郎や市丸、喜代三など「うぐいす芸者」の吹込みだけでなく、東海林太郎・上原敏・藤山一郎・伊藤久男など昭和を代表する流行歌歌手総出演！ジャパニーズ・ダンス・ミュージックの原点がここにある！
解説・監修は『日本の軍歌』（幻冬舎新書）、『愛国とレコード』（えにし書房）、『日本の軍歌アーカイブス』（ビクターエンタテインメント）などで軍歌研究の第一人者の辻田真佐憲。

<70th Anniversary of the End of the War Project>
Gramo Club's "Wartime Propaganda Series" examines the connection between music and society!
This avant-garde compilation album, unique to Gramo Club, features military and propaganda-related ondo songs recorded before the war. This historical document provides a glimpse into the prewar history of the Showa era through ondo, examining how ondo has adapted to the times and media, the evolution and establishment of ondo arrangements, the history of conformity pressure and mobilization, and more.
Not only does it feature recordings by "uguisu geisha" (warbler geisha) artists like Kouta Katsutaro, Ichimaru, and Kiyozo, but it also features a lineup of representative Showa pop singers, including Tokairin Taro, Uehara Bin, Fujiyama Ichiro, and Ito Hisao! The origins of Japanese dance music are here!
Commentary and supervision are provided by Masanori Tsujita, a leading expert on military songs, whose works include "Japanese Military Songs" (Gentosha Shinsho), "Patriotism and Records" (Enishi Shobo), and "Japanese Military Song Archives" (Victor Entertainment).
